Use the filters in the Trips & Runs pane to select the Trips you want to submit to Run Suggestions. Select Run Suggestions and press Generate Suggestions. Run Suggestions will take 30 seconds to deliver optimized Routes for your available Drivers.

How To Use Run Suggestions

Basic Features

 1. Begin by selecting Trips using the Filters in the Trips & Routes pane.

 2. Click Run Suggestions at the top of the Runs pane.

 3. The system will display some basic information about the Trips you've selected.  Currently, the Run Suggestions engine will only consider Unassigned Trips.  The system also displays the number of available drivers.  Note: To maximize the effectiveness of Run Suggestions, it's important to create your Drivers' shifts in advance.

 4. Click Generate Suggestions

 5. The system will take time to take the Trips you've selected and propose the optimal routes for the Drivers available.  You can analyze those results, which will also be plotted on the map.  You can then click Apply to assign the Trips to the Drivers indicated.

More Advanced Features

Clicking Customize Settings at the top of the pane opens multiple ways you can tweak the results.  

Preferred Pick-Up Time indicates that when processing results, the engine will try to adhere to the Pick-Up Times designated in the Trips selected.  When toggled off, the engine will favor Drop-Off Times.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off Time Window settings allow you to specify the window of time around those events that you may want to target, or that may be indicated by your relationship with the facilities you service.

Passenger Load Times allows you to account for how long it will take to bring a passenger on board a ride.  This also allows additional time if additional passengers are brought on board for the same ride.

Include Assigned Runs will let you include Trips that have already been assigned to Drivers.  If a vehicle breaks down during operation, for example, you may want to include assigned Trips to restructure all itineraries to accommodate.

Traffic Penalty Multiplier is an additional buffer variable you can use to accout for high traffic times.

Max Passenger Seating Time allows you to adhere to standards either you or your contractual relationships establish regarding the maximum amount of time a passenger can be seated in a vehicle.

Idle Time restricts the amount of time a Driver can remain idle between trips.
