We’ve introduced dedicated Companion Trip handling to give dispatchers more control, clarity, and flexibility when managing companions alongside primary passengers. Companions can now be created as standalone bookings, visually identified across Operations, manually added to runs, and validated against vehicle capacity—without impacting existing passenger workflows.

This update separates companion logistics from passenger bookings, supports manual and CSV-based companion creation, enhances driver assignment flexibility, and improves audit visibility through enhanced reporting. Standing orders remain predictable while allowing companions to be explicitly included or removed as needed, ensuring both operational accuracy and billing confidence.

Companion & Passenger Linking — Reliability, Clarity, and Control

Feature Summary:

Dispatchers now get clearer validations, safer linking behavior, and predictable outcomes when working with Companion and Passenger bookings—across Booking Form, Route Planner, and Operations screens.

• Clear validation when attempting to link Passenger trips already assigned to active routes
• Force Assign flow now allows selective passenger reassignment with full visibility (Passenger, Leg, Route, Driver)
• Will Call Companion trips are blocked from being added to routes with clear, consistent messaging (matching Booking Form behavior)
• Companion and Passenger linking updates now reflect in real time on Trip Cards across Operations and Route Planner
• Companion name is immediately removed from Trip Cards when unlinking occurs—no stale UI state
• System retains route structure when Companion or Passenger trips are canceled, preventing unnecessary route dismantles
• Safe dismantle confirmation added for runs containing linked companions, with explicit impact messaging
