We've released Driver App Version 6.2.0 on Monday, July 28, 2025.
 

Introduction of Recurring Route Management with offer Accept/Reject workflow in Driver App 

This release delivers a major upgrade to the Driver App, enabling drivers to seamlessly view, evaluate, and respond to recurring route offers. With richer visibility into route details, real-time updates, and structured response flows, the enhancements significantly improve route transparency, planning efficiency, and driver engagement. To enhance safety during active trips, this release introduces chat restrictions for drivers while the vehicle is moving. This ensures that communication with caregivers does not distract drivers in transit.

Together, these features empower drivers with better decision-making tools and help dispatchers manage fulfillment more effectively. 

Key Highlights

Recurring Route Offer Cards in Ride Requests:

  • Drivers can now view recurring route offers as cards in the Ride Requests section. 
  • Each card shows the route name/passenger name, trip time and duration, number of passengers, stops, and distance. 
  • Responsive UI handles missing data gracefully (e.g., default labels like “New Recurring Route”).

Detailed Route View for Evaluation:

  • Tapping a route card expands full details, including: Stop addresses with pickup/drop-off tags, Seat/equipment requirements, Special instructions, and camera/vehicle notes. 
  • Map preview and time formatting support improve readability and trip planning.

 

Route Acceptance Flow:

  • Drivers can accept recurring route offers using a single tap. 
  • A confirmation screen titled “Route Accepted” is displayed, followed by a 3-second redirect to the Schedules section. 
  • Backend systems update the route status and record the driver's response for future reference. 

Route Rejection Flow:

  • Drivers may reject route offers with a reason, logged for dispatcher visibility. 
  • A warning about frequent rejections is shown. 
  • On rejection, the route card disappears, and a “Route Declined” screen confirms the action.

In-Run and Real-Time Route Update Alerts:

  • When drivers are mid-run or on the current run screen, real-time route changes trigger non-blocking alert banners. 
  • Alerts include countdown timers for response windows. 
  • Drivers can “Check Details” (which opens a modal with trip updates and accept/reject options) or “View Later” (which minimizes the alert while continuing the run).

Stop-Level Equipment and Instruction Visibility:

  • Stop-level data includes the full address, Arrival time (12-hour format), Required equipment (e.g., booster seat, seatbelt lock), and Max 2 equipment tags before expanding into “+X more” format.

Smart Navigation Logic on App Launch:

Three-tier navigation rule implemented on the Driver App login:

  • If a new ride request exists → go to the Ride Request page 
  • Else, if a run is about to start → go to the Run Start screen 
  • Else → go to Notification screen 

Enhanced Safety: Driver Chat Restrictions while the Vehicle is in motion:

  • Chat functionality is automatically disabled when the vehicle is in motion.
  • Visual warning message: “Chatting is paused while the vehicle is moving to ensure safety.” 
  • A clearly labeled disabled chat input box shows: “Chat Unavailable While Driving – For your safety.” 

Passengers or companions can override the restriction by tapping and holding “Tap & Hold, I’m a Passenger” for 2 seconds. 

Once bypassed, chat functionality is temporarily unlocked.

Timestamp Accuracy for Multi-Passenger Drop-offs: 

  • Drop-off timestamps now reflect the actual time of each individual stop.
  • Stops with different drop-off locations no longer share the same timestamp.
  • Corrects "waiting" status visibility for onboard passengers during active trips.
  • Supports better reporting, transparency, and troubleshooting for tenant admins and support teams.
