Caregiver App “TOBI Ride Tracker” Enhancements
Empowering caregivers with real-time ride tracking, notifications, secure communication, and ride control features
This release brings meaningful updates that improve user experience, accuracy in trip data representation, real-time communication, and regulatory compliance. These enhancements aim to deliver a more seamless, transparent, and reliable experience for caregivers.
Key Enhancements:
Real-Time Pickup/Dropoff ETA Updates:
- Caregivers will receive real-time updates and see estimated pickup and drop-off times.
Trip based Chat Rules:
- Caregivers can chat with the driver only when the trip is active.
- For multi-passenger caregivers, chat access is enabled for each passenger trip individually.
- If chat is attempted outside of an active trip, a message informs the caregiver that chat is unavailable.
Dynamic Caregiver App branding:
- Tenant-specific branding is now supported in the Caregiver/TOBI Ride tracker App.
- The App displays the correct logo per tenant if configured.
- To configure: Go to Tobi WebApp → Configurations → System Settings → Branding.
Terms of Service / Privacy Policy Enforcement:
- Caregivers must explicitly accept the Terms of Service & Privacy Policy before accessing the app.
- Terms are accessible via clickable links on the login screen.
- Acceptance is logged with a timestamp for audit compliance.
Introduction of a New Advanced Price Rule Configuration Framework
This release introduces a brand-new framework for configuring advanced price rules, giving dispatchers and administrators more power, flexibility, and transparency in managing fare structures. We’ve also introduced a new mechanism to configure driver wait time charges using grace periods at pickup and drop-off locations.
Together, these features establish the foundation for rule-based pricing, built for dynamic, auditable, and scalable operations.
Key Capabilities:
- Create, edit, and save advanced pricing rules with a clean, responsive UI.
- Clone existing rules to accelerate rule setup.
- Loader animations for better user feedback during form loading.
- A new charging logic allows fleets to apply wait charges only after a configurable buffer time has passed at pickup and drop-off.

New In-App Messaging for dispatchers in the TOBI Web App
We’ve introduced a new real-time messaging feature for dispatchers using the TOBI web app. This enhancement allows dispatchers to instantly communicate with other TOBI web users right from within the platform, eliminating the need for third-party messaging apps or phone calls.
Key Capabilities:
- Send & Receive Messages Instantly: Dispatchers can now chat directly with other web users from within the TOBI Messaging section.
- Delivery & Read Receipts: A single grey checkmark indicates the message has been delivered, and a double blue checkmark indicates the message has been read.
- Typing Indicator: Real-time feedback when the other user is typing enhances communication flow and responsiveness.
- Secure Chat Logging: All message exchanges are stored securely, enabling future auditing and compliance.

Booking Portal Approval Logic is now fully isolated from Global Settings
To improve clarity and control in how bookings are handled, the system now explicitly uses Booking Portal–specific approval configurations for trips added or edited through the Booking Portal. This ensures booking behavior stays aligned with portal-specific workflows and avoids unintended overrides by fleet or account-level configurations.
Key Capabilities:
- When a booking is added or edited via the Booking Portal, the system now only respects the Booking Portal’s “Allow Approval on Add/Edit” configuration.
- Account-level or fleet-level “Booking Action” configurations are ignored for Booking Portal trips.
- The Booking Action configuration continues to apply as expected for all other booking channels (manual, CSV, API).
User details in Activity logs for Ride modifications
To support operational transparency and improve collaboration, the system now logs who approved or rejected ride modification requests submitted by districts via the District Portal.
What's new:
In the Tobi Web App > Activity Logs, you can now see:
- Name of the person who approved or rejected the modification.
- Requested changes submitted by the district.
- Timestamp of when the action occurred.
- Type of action: Approved / Rejected.
- Rejection reason, if provided.
