What the Pills Show

  • Delayed - the number of runs where a driver is waiting at a stop for too long.
  • Late - the number of runs where a driver has not reached a stop on time.

Delayed vs. Late at a Glance

Delayed

Late

What it means

The driver is at the stop, but has been waiting there too long.

The driver has not reached the stop yet, and it is past the time they should be there.

Has the driver arrived?

Yes

No

Clock starts at

The time the driver arrived at the stop and marked “Arrived at Pickup” from the Driver app

The requested pickup or drop-off time

Example

Driver arrived at 9:00 AM. Wait limit is 10 minutes. At 9:11 AM, the run shows as Delayed.

Pickup was requested for 9:00 AM. Wait limit is 10 minutes. The driver is still on the way at 9:11 AM, so the run shows as Late.

Delayed: The Driver Is Waiting Too Long

A run is Delayed when the driver has already arrived at a pickup or drop-off location, however they are still there after the wait limit.

  • At a pickup: the driver marked "Arrived at Pickup," but has not onboarded the passenger yet.
  • At a drop-off: the driver marked "Arrived at Destination," but the passenger has not been offboarded yet.
  • The clock starts when the driver arrives. If the driver waits longer than your fleet's wait limit, the run moves into Delayed.

Example: The driver arrives at the pickup at 9:00 AM. Your fleet's pickup wait limit is 10 minutes. At 9:11 AM, the passenger is still not on board. The run now counts as Delayed.

Late: The Driver Has Not Arrived on Time

A run is Late when the driver has not reached a stop and it is past the requested time.

  • For a pickup: the driver has not arrived, and it is past the requested pickup time plus the wait limit.
  • For a drop-off: the passenger has not been dropped off yet, and it is past the requested drop-off time plus the wait limit.

Example: The requested pickup on the trip is for 9:00 AM. Your fleet's pickup wait limit is 10 minutes. At 9:11 AM, the driver is still on the way. The run now counts as Late.

Where the Wait Limit Comes From

The wait limit is set for each fleet. You can find it on the fleet's settings page (Configurations, then Fleets, then edit the fleet):

  • Maximum driver wait At Pickup is used for pickups.
  • Maximum driver wait At Drop off is used for drop-offs.

The same setting is used for Delayed and Late. If your fleet does not have these settings filled in, the pills will stay at 0.

How to Use the Pills

  • Click Delayed to see only the runs with a driver waiting too long.
  • Click Late to see only the runs where the driver has not arrived on time.
  • Click the same pill again to go back to all runs.

Only one pill can be on at a time. The selected pill is highlighted so you know the list is filtered.

Good to Know

  • Each run is counted in only one pill. A run is never counted in both Delayed and Late at the same time.
  • Runs that are on time are not counted in either pill.
  • Trips that are already dropped off or canceled are not counted as late, even if the arrival at pickup or drop-off during the run was actually late.
  • The numbers update when the runs list refreshes. If a number looks old, click the refresh button on the Runs pane.

The pills follow your Global Filters. If you filter by a fleet or a date, the pills only count runs in that view.

Quick Tips

  • Check the Delayed pill to see if a driver needs help finding or reaching a passenger.
  • Check the Late pill to see if you need to call the passenger or move the trip to another driver.
  • If the pills always show 0, ask your admin to check the wait limit settings on your fleet.
